Two colleges will share how Canvas has helped leverage onboarding of new faculty. Effective teaching practices are infused through the onboarding course that enables faculty to experience Canvas from a student perspective. The course gives faculty immediately applicable teaching practices they can use to support and engage their students through the use of Canvas. The onboarding course’s purpose is to: • purposefully welcome and make connections; • increase institutional scholarship and engagement; • increase reflective practices and metacognitive awareness; • introduce evidence-based and equity-minded teaching strategies to maximize student learning.
