Hi!
I’m Raquel Poteet and I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I have been in the U.S for nine years and decided to become a citizen a year and a half ago. I’ve been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) for over 20 years and I love what I do. I speak three languages and, teaching languages fascinates me because it gives me the opportunity to work in a very diverse environment. I have a Post-Bac in Education, a BA in Translation & Interpreting, and I am about to earn my M.Ed. in TESOL from Post University. I accepted a tenure position at Rental Technical College and moved to Washington in September 2018. I am currently teaching face-to-face, hybrid and online classes for RTC’s College & Career Pathways Program. Equity and accessibility are my priorities and my main goals are to help my students to become digital citizens and to engage them through the tools offered by Canvas. I am eager to find effective ways of engaging and interacting with students, and I like the trial-and-error method. I’m looking forward to sharing my successes with you.
