Sabrina Stevenson

Pierce College
District Program Manager
I am a Pierce alum, UW alum - Go Huskies!, and recent Masters graduate with a degree in Curriculum Development. I began my college journey right here at Pierce College as a single mother, first-generation, adult returning college student. Eight years later, I returned to Pierce College as a full-time employee working to support students as they begin their own journey in higher education. Now, nearly twenty years after my journey began, I have come full circle and am now the instructor in the very classrooms I once sat as a student. I am proud to give back to my Pierce community.
Besides in class, you will most often find me in the Tutoring Center, where I spend a great deal of my time developing programs that support student success and promote peer engagement.
When I'm not at Pierce, which seems to be my second home, I am hanging out with my two lovable golden retrievers, out exploring nature, taking in a game, being silly with my family, challenging my son to a game of Magic, gaming with my D&D group, or most often with my nose in a book. My interests are as eclectic as my upbringing.
As a military dependent, I grew up all around the world: Japan, Greece, Italy, Germany, just to name a few. This multicultural upbringing has fostered in me a passion for diversity, equality, and social justice. You will see this weaved throughout my course, as Pierce has also adopted equity, diversity, and inclusion as a focus area of our college mission. I believe that ALL students have the ability to succeed and need only to believe in themselves, be prepared to take action, and be provided a positive learning environment with adequate support to achieve their goals.
